It was a weird day. I woke up on the side of the road and walked the highway through Salmon Idaho. On the way I met three other hikers, the only others who seemed to walk around this closure as opposed to skipping it. In town, I didn’t really need anything so I kept on walking. I made it to Tendoy, passing both roadkill and Amish carriages and finally turned off to climb up Lemhi Pass Road. This is when it began to rain. It was a bad omen of things to come. It was a pretty uneventful day of roads and working around my final fire detour. I camped in the shelter area under a full tree, but I would most definitely be getting wet.
