I left green valley and headed towards the Mojave. Most the day was spent hiking with other hikers, notably Machine, Yukon and The Scientist. Despite the social nature of the hiking, it still turned into a 30 mile day. The goal was only to get within enough miles of hikertown to fill up water there before crossing the true Mojave. The 500 mile mark came and went in the meandering nature of the trail that rarely seemed to go North. It felt as though countless miles were to add bonus miles to prepare for the hot walk ahead.
